This app is a great way to push real time updates and recommendation to you on your phone.  Aloqa helps you to see things based on your preferences on your phone, social graph, and users can easily see what things are going on in the local area just by glancing at the app startup screen.  The app shows favorite businesses, local music concerts, and other offers that are close by your GPS location that the app finds and knows about.  This GPS based app brings what the app refers as to channels right to your phone.  These channels help you to find the nearest McDonalds, gas station, theaters, bars and night clubs, shopping centers, and facebook friends in your local area.

One of the coolest features about this app is that it brings nearby attractions to you in different ways.  This can be done by a ring, no ring, vibrate when you are near events, or simply turn the channels off or add new ones.  The Family fun channel shows you family friendly activities which the entire family can enjoy and hope to have some real family quality bonding fun.  There is no way to look for channels not near your location which is kind of lame since you could plan to be somewhere in a week and want to research things to do. The app only works around your current phone GPS location, but it would be nice to be able to research future areas.
