iExit app Review

Description:

How many times have you been driving on the the interstate, been hungry, and tried to take the next exit to find something to eat only to find that there is nothing edible available?  I’m willing to bet it has happened to everybody at one time or another.  Or what about when you are in an unfamiliar town and you want to get back out on the interstate but you have no idea where the closest exit is at?  It can be frustrating and annoying to be lost and not know where to go to get out.  You can waste a lot of gas, patience, and fun, getting stuck in a certain location for too long.

Well, all that is over now with the introduction of the iExit iPhone app.  iExit allows you to see all of the upcoming and nearby interstate exits that are coming up.  It also has a lot of different features that allow you to make sure that it only shows you exits that have your favorite locations at it.  For instance, if you only like filling your car up at Chevron, you can tag that as a favorite and the iphone app will give you directions to the exits that have that gas station.  This also goes for restaurants, hotels, convenient stores, and any other favorite place that you love to stop at while on road trips.

The great thing about this app compared to other iphone apps is that it stores the information that you download.  So once you have gained the information, you can still access the data without actually having a connection to the internet.  This is great for times when you are out of range of getting service.

The GPS locator in the app is great because it uses Google Maps and other programs to bring up over 150 points of interest all on one map.  This app is sure to impress you, so go ahead and download it today.

Features:

  • It can tell whether or not you are on the interstate, that way you can make sure that you are on the right roads
  • You can get directions to specific points of interest that are close to the exit
  • It will show up to 50 of the closest exits
  • You can use filters to pick only exits that have your favorite locations at them
  • You can see directions in both a list or a map view
  • When you come to an interstate junctions, it is easy to be able to navigate through them
  • Frequently updates its database from allstays.com
  • There is also a mode you can access offline to find exits in a manual process

Conclusion:

Voted 3 1/2 stars by iPhone navigation app users and currently costs $2.99.
